LJÓS

Ljós [ Icelandic] - Light [English].

Mixed-media installation & durational performance in collaboration with Ane Lopez, Glasgow School of Art, 2016.
Audio recording, video projection on transparent screen, black fabric.

Working in collaboration with the artist Ane Lopez, LJÓS seeks to create a multi-sensorial space in which visitors can explore emotional responses to the expansive auralities contained within Iceland’s diverse geographies.

With a focus on Dettifoss, situated in the country’s northeast, the installation comprises a darkened room with a video and sound recording of the Dettifoss waterfall projected onto a transparent screen, together with a durational performance. Positioning themselves behind the black screen lining the walls, the only visible presence are the artists hands that hang statically for the entirety of the exhibition.
